Trapeze Acts

I have had this Alexander McQueen trapeze dress for some time now and figured it doesn’t belong in the closet unseen…. Yeah did I mention it had never been worn? What’s wrong with me? (Note briefly, this is a separate issue that will not be addressed in today’s post *cleansing breath*).  The draping in this dress is beautiful and can still be appreciated even when belted.  The flesh tone panel allows for a nude shoe play which let’s face it; anything that helps the legs look longer is a-ok with me!  To ensure I didn’t look like a walking reflector and in a bid to welcome spring on the scene, my Alexander McQueen De Manta clutch added some good ol’ fashion folklore.

P.S Get Studly! Studs are definitely the fool proof way of adding some rock’n’roll to any pretty outfit. Practice Tough Love <3

Gl-Armour

Recently attending a charity ball with a ‘desert glamour’ dress code allowed for some artistic expression.  I opted for a Diane Von Furstenburg gown with antique gold scale sequins that form an armour-like bodice paired with layered black chiffon.  Choosing accessories with gilded-esque gold accenting and stud embellishment aided in complimenting the armour effect.  As you may have noticed from previous posts, I do enjoy a good mix-up or ‘accessories salad’ if you will, that all seem to work together in harmony (cheesy but don’t it sound pleasing!).  Insert chain necklace with delicate leaf adorned shoes and voila you have full body desert gl-armour. Joy!

Balenc-ing Act

The Balenciaga runway cutout boots were definitely on my lust list for the whole SS11 season. I recently acquired them...through phone calls to many international cities, endless emails and a very helpful assistant at the Balenciaga Vegas store. Yes, I am fully aware that this epic feat may have tipped the scale of sanity but wow the happiness they did bring!! They almost remind me of a penny loafer x motorcycle boot hybrid but these edgy, masculine, punk style boots allows for more feminine styling than first imagined. I always enjoy an androgynous militarian twist to an otherwise tailored/chic look and these boots work just a treat!
